Authority Control
In distributed control systems, several operator stations are normally in use in different locations.
Authority control defines that work station from which an intervention may actively be made in a process by switching operations and the like. Authority control is an integral part of the aX5 basic system and is characterised by flexibility and a simple configuration.
- Clear authority control for every operator station
- Any number of authority controls can be defined
- Object-specific authority control
In engineering, either individual objects (instances), groups of objects or entire processes or sub-processes can be provided with verification of authority control. - Automatic locking of all switching operations if there is no authority control
The lack of authority control is mainly shown in panels by locked buttons or locked input fields. The authority control is generally verified on the system level and prevents any write access such as alarm acknowledgement or the writes stored in high-level languages. - Mix of different authority controls in a process screen
The authority control is not specific to a process screen, but to individual objects. A process screen can thus have objects with or without authority control and combine objects with different authority controls. - Current authority control holder is displayed
- Takeover and handover functions of authority control
The authority control can be switched between 2 and more stations or be decidedly handed over to one station.
